Building a Boosted Duratec
Wow I haven't posted anything since last month...
Well here is an ear full.

I installed and painted the Starter and the Passenger Side Axle Bearing Bracket, as you see in pictures below.

Then I installed the oil dipstick. I, like others, are tired of the shortage of room on the Cosworth Intake Manifold for the dipstick. So I decided to just simply bend it straight and rig up a little bracket to the Cossy Mount Brace to hold the dipstick in place. It will sit perfectly between the Cossy and the Rad Support. Not much room to spare but this way I don't have to cut the handle in half...

I then put on the oil filter and sealed it all up and filled it with Amsoil Break In Oil. The 2.3L with the BSD, it is almost 5 liters of fluid now.

I gave the engine a couple spins by hand to get the oil all mixed and tried to push some fluid up to the head if it did, I will never know... I then let the engine sit on a dry spot on the floor to see if anything would leak. I came back to it in an hour and the dam Main Seal was dripping......Dodgy Ripped the clutch and flywheel off. Unbolted the main seal bolts and slide that off gently. Then I wiped off the surface very well and laid down and nice bead of Black Silicone all around were that dam seal goes. Tongue . Bolted everything back up and spun it again. It was near the end of the day so I left it on a another dry spot on the floor. The next day I found another spot. I lost my marbles at that point. Thought this thing is going to leak all the time. Literally sitting on the floor next to it holding my head I saw it was just the dam Turbo Drain line that was leaking. Tightened that up and it has been perfect ever since.
I then installed the CFM Throttle Body and it wouldn't open all the way. I couldn't figure it out. I sanded the hell out of the Cossy mouth and it still kept hitting something. I just took the butterfly off and found a s**t ton of Carbon build up that when the TB was bolted. The housing would bend and not allow it to open. It should be cleaned regularly for others but now it works and the mouth of the Cossy is now smooth too lol.

Now on to the Transmission from hell....
I have had this MTX75 over at another members work for roughly a month before they could take a look at it. But I am never in a rush due to I have very little time to work on the car. Anyway, they opened it up and found that everything in the MTX needs to be replacedSad. Get a call from Ken. BTW THANK YOU Ken!!!! He was talking to Joe at JD Motorsports, who has my tranny and tells me my list of parts is pushing some pretty pennies around. I said lets just go with it. I replaced everything else in it, why not this too.
We had another talk, I think via email, and he just confirmed with his after market contacts that they don't use china made parts. So the price dropped a lot Big Grin. Then I got another kick in the teeth. There are 3 types of MTX75. 18mm, 20mm, 20mm with black cover over the 5th gear. Mine is the 20mm. and the selector forks need to be changed out with the synchros too. The price went back up.
All I can say is that the Car is going to be and feel like a brand new 2005 Focus all over again. So it's worth it. Some of you will call me nuts and say why didn't you just buy a new ST. I love this car and the memories in it could never get me to stop.
So I'm just waiting on parts right now.

But in the meanwhile I had my intercooler piping upgraded to 304 Stainless Steel 2.5". I am so happy how it turned out. You don't really see much of it when it is on the car but I myself will know that it is there and there to last the life of the car twice over. I got an amazing deal on it too. The fabricator did me a favor, half because he loves doing it and half because we kind of worked together too. He told me it has roughly 40-50 man hours involved in it being TIG welded.
Take a look. There are a few minor details that need to be dealt with but that will be done when the engine is in the car.

No he just doesn't weld and make things. He actually builds race ready Honda's in his spare time. He has told me that while tuning, if it develops surging that he will have to make some modifications to the piping. SO we are aware of what could be bad and good here. The good side is I'm more then doubling the flow rate of the air to the engine. I can't see the turbo working harder but I can see that were I would want to make 20PSI before. Now I would only need to bring it up to 15-18PSI due to the increase flow rate to make the same power with smaller piping. This will be fun.

In the meantime I have updated the from LED flashing lights on the truck. They are more sleek and they still get people out of my way lol

Just a couple of days ago I and the owner of the Red Civic Bubble in the shop were told to remove our s**t or a removal company would. But this is not how the owner feels. It is how the controller who sits on her big fat ass all day thinking of stupid ways to make things run more efficient and in return she just costs the company so much money, thinks... Anyway I went and rented a Storage/Workshop Unit next to my Fathers Storage Unit. It will work perfectly and allow me to work in the day light. Those that don't know. I've been doing all of this in the dark. There is no light in the back of the shop were I had everything. Nice and out of the way but now it's in the way...
SO here it is, what do you think????

Perfect amount of space and when I went to sign up, it was on a discounted price too. I couldn't say no to the shop. The regular storage unit was just $10 less per month.

That's it for now. Hopefully next weekend I can borrow GFXjamie's trailer and move the car over to the new location. Then return it and hang out with Wobb and Amy which are up from the States next weekend.
