That is a flawed study if I've ever read one (not that im doubting the results) They are not taking into consideration that perhaps men who are already making a higher income, or who are in more secure positions (with more potential) are more apt to marry someone who is content with performing housework. You cant infer a causal relationship based on the data they have provided, it a case of what came first the chicken or the egg.
