Point well taken :)

I mean, there are a decent number of homegrown SPIs that are force-fed without issues in the States. Tuning a SPI is no different than tuning a Zetec, especially with a datalogger and then something along the lines of an XCal 1/2 for the re-tune. I'd invest in a day's dyno time to tune it for sure.

Besides the aforementioned mounting issues and belt routing issues, I don't see many problems with it. Upgrade the fuel injectors, no problem. BDR 60mm TB - coming this fall. The only shortcoming the SPI has is the intake manifold. Aside from disabling the IMRC, we can't do much to improve flow besides PnP and port-matching to the new TB.

Still there are guys with turbo'ed SPIs who are putting down 180-200+ WHP with the exact same methods that Zetec owners use. It's just a matter of adaption.
