Supercharger - Where Do You Mount The Prick?
#19
the turbo manifold from a late 80s escort will bolt up to the SPI motor, i believe it uses a T25 turbo, you'd need to fabricate the DP, and piping from the turbo the the FMIC and the IC to the TB, none of which is that hard to do. since you are going to be limited by the tranny, 6psi should be more than enough and at that boost level an intercooler is not "NEEDED" however it's nice to have one on long hauls or spirited drives.

i'd have to check but i believe ford uses a standard injector size on all of it's cars and trucks, the only issue would be the injector harness plug shape. i know the zetec can use the 42lb/hr injectors off a lightning.. but the SPI might use a different shaped harness, maybe like a mustang or even a V10 injector...?

to make a JRSC style blower, you'd need to do some custom fab work but it is not THAT hard to do if you have some friends in the industry.
you would need a spair SPI intake manifold.
you would need to cut the mounting flange off the IM off and make a template out of it.
you would then need to take that template to a machinist and get a new flange made, from there you would need to fabricate a plenum and runners that mounts the SC pully in line with the belt assembly.
there is a guy on FJ that has already done this, he would probably be the guy to contact about this.

you can do anything to any car!
you just need deep pockets and the ability to live without the car for long periods of time during build up.
THERE IS NO WAY THIS WOULD BE A WEEKEND OR EVEN A WEEKLONG PROJECT!!!
this would take you atleats a couple of months assuming you already had a design, plan of attack and the money standing by to make it happen with a nice fat buffer for the problems that are bound to come up?

not hatin, just sayin. :)
