I have a few years of lowered car winter driving (before the Focus I had a '88 MR2 - pretty low) and this is what I found: If you have a lowered car, you won't likely go anywhere with deep snow to get you stuck in.
I really believe in snow tires, not all seasons, so that might be part of it too. I've been stuck many times in a E-150 van, simply because with more clearance, more weight, and big deep-treaded tires you think you can go anywhere - wrong.
