The unlocking part is a bit of a PITA , but the software gets better as you learn to use it.

And when you weigh it against the other units out there, you should be happier with the purchase, longterm.

Where's you end up getting it from?

PS. $600 is cheap, lol, it cost me $1500 for my aviation GPS and an additional $300 for the car kit, $40 every time I update the aviation database, $40 for the obstacle database (both are monthly) and about $60 a year for the current Mapsource version.
