To be blunt this question is like asking:
"Would you rather be shot in the head or take bullets somewhere south of the equator?"
NDP - Jack Layton has proved to the entire country what I learned about him when he was merely a councillor in Toronto. He's an opportunstic, bloodsucking little leetch who will do or say anything to make sure that his agenda gets promoted (So what makes him different from any other politican I hear you asking? :P )
If Jack Layton wouldn't have held a gun to Martin's head knowing that the Liberals would be found dirty in the AdScam scandal for his support and then distanced himself when the stench from Gomery hit the fan like Martin was contagious. I would have respected him at least for sticking to a principle. Sorry "Smilin' Jack" but you've got all the moral fibre of a soggy noodle.
Bloc Quebecous - Giles Duceppe here is a man that's truly frightening, after a rather inauspicous beginning (Remember the picture of him with the hairnet?) he's emerged from behind the shadow of Lucien Bouchard to become a credible political leader.
But for the fact that he espouses the destruction of Canada in a mad attempt to gain Quebec's independance I'd vote for him. He stays on message, delivers the message consistantly and actually believes what he's saying. A winning combination, just not with those goals...
Liberals - Paul Martin god how has destroyed any faith I had in the Liberal Party, let me count the ways. The man was so blinded by ambition to become PM that he systemtically took control of the party at the grass roots forcing a sitting PM out to pasture on Martin's terms.
Next Martin systemically purged the party of any credible alternatives to himself, turning the leadership race into a glorified coronation and then says he "knew nothing about" the mechanations of AdScam, despite the fact that he was finance minister during this time? C'mon, the Canadian public are not that stupid.
Martin has governed simply by putting the fear of the Conservative boogeyman into the hearts of Canadians and with the latest "mini-budget" sets about winning re-election again by bribing us with our own money (the pittance that it is)
Conservative Party - Stephen Harper the man is as exciting as a bone stock Ford Focus sedan and has rogue elements within his party that he seems unable (or unwilling) to squelch (Not being as ruthless as either Martin or Layton apparently) but frankly if that's the only negative thing I can find to say about him, that's a damn sight better than the other options... He was even willing to trigger an election but for Smilin' Jack sticking the knife in his back when the time came to cast votes...
Executive Summary - Stephen Harper... its time for a real change, not pocket change...
