I had this too. I checked under the car for signs of damage etc.. on the EVAP system and I noticed my evap line was kinda rusted out. I am not sure about the 2005+ but there are 2 different codes for that check fuel cap light. One is for a big leak and one is for a minor. You can try a fuel cap ans see if your old one was losing pressure but it's usually not that but it's the easiest attempt to solve it. You'll have to reset the ECU and it might take up wards of 5 trips to come back on if you didn't fix it.
