The valve cover gasket on my car was replaced. (IIRC the part is about $40)
It started out as a burning oil smell especially sitting at idle after driving for a while. I believe it is a common problem. I remember a few people on here had theirs replaced in the last year. You can see signs of it in many engines pictures posted here.
