Interesting thing, THE UNIVERSAL WORKING LANGUAGE for marine communications EVERYWHERE IN THE WORLD is English except for of course.....................you guessed it:
Quebec
In Quebec you can communicate with the Vessel Traffic Service (which is like air traffic control) in French or English.
VERY DANGEROUS as, if it is done in French to French, nobody else knows what is happening, where you are going, what your intentions are and the whole purpose of a common language is defeated. It is an accident waiting to happen.
If two Chinese Captains can talk to eachother in English while in China then it should happen here too.
