some pretty neat news in the world of sports.

A company called Spyder is incorporating d3o material in new ski suits.

why you should care? Because it's a material that is flexible under normal use, but hardens instantly on impact. Spyder is making ski suits out of it, but a couple of other companies make shoes and touques incorporating this stuff.

Imagine wearing something that is soft and flexible, yet instantly hardens the moment there's an impact...

anyhoo.. if anyone's interested... 3do Lab's website has more info.

I must get me some of this material and build me some down-hill bike armor!
