Used focus wagon + turbo is one helluva sleeper. For cheap to.
The only other wagon I can think of that would compare price wise, is the wrx. For 17-20K he could get a 2002 with under 100K.
2002 focus wagon probably goes for under 8k with similar mileage, add on another 7k for a nice reliable turbo setup and you got yourself a competitor to that wrx.
Other than that, I don't see any other wagon comparing price wise....
