Mine does the exact same thing but i got the goodyear rsa 15in. I havent taken it in yet. I have to soon, i have a laundry list for them.

I've never had that with either car (past or present). Heck, I was technically out on my front driver's tire and at 100 it was an audible thrum but nothing through the wheel.

Start with the S.A. If you get nowhere, tell them that any amount of vibration is inacceptable and that you want it fixed. Failing that, talk to the service manager. Failing that, talk to the dealership general manager and then the owner. Make noise.

A properly set-up Focus will ride and drive as smooth as anything else on the road and oftentimes a lot better than many other cars. I was at over 11,000 on the weekend (tires rotated once already) and at uhm... faster than posted I was rock-solid for quite some time. That's a downfall of the car to be sure... lots of stability at speed :D

My gf's '04 ZX5 had tire problems. They were P06's.
Was getting humming and vibes through the streering wheel.
The back right tire was screwed up/deformed.
She had over 20,000km on the car when this happend and Ford did not do anything because of the mileage. Even though we had just went through winter with winter tires which couted for atleast 10K Kms.
The only fix, we changed both rear tires to Fuzion HRi's and no more problems!
My '07 has the P06's and seem to be great so far. No humming and no vibes. It's incredibly smooth actualy... damn I love my ST.

Oh, and to be back on topic, I'm still averaging 32-33 MPG and my gf is about 35-36.

i'm gonna toss out some ideas:

are you using clip on or stick on wheel weights.. if stick on.. are you sure they are still in the same place as where they should be?

take your rear tires and put em up front.. does it still happen? maybe one of the tires is just messed up

is the vibration when you are on the gas or on the brake? if brake, your rotors need to be resurfaced (i had the exact same thing happen)

put the car up on jackstands and have a buddy grab the tire and try to move it around while you are underneath.. see if anything is moving around underneath.. check all the places where the suspension components are bolted together

That, and its no big secret that the OEM tires fitted to ANY Focus is junk. Goodslides, Michelspins, P06's...all just cheaper average passenger car tires. If you were to get something like the Fuzion HRi's all the way around (or the Bridgestone Potenza G009's or Potenza RE960's) you won't ever have any problems with the way your car steers or handles again.

Also, wherever you get your tire stuff taken care of, ensure that they have a machine that can road force the tires. If the tires aren't as exacting as you want, you can have them indexed...this is where they break the bead, and rotate the tire about an inch or so forward or backward, reinflate, and balance and roadforce again. This takes more time, and costs more, but you end up with a better seated/sealed tire and tire bead, as well as less weights on the wheels.

i talked to the SA today and here is what he said:
the roadforce on the tires when they are cold was 30 and 40 Lbs (right and left side), when the tires are warm it is 3 and 4 Lbs.
he told me the tires have to warm up and then the vibr. goes away, he said it was the nature of the tire.
he also told me ford only took roadforce readings when the tires are warm and he said 3 and 4 Lbs is withen spec.
this sucks...

Then it sounds like you have two options - replace the tires or get another opinion.

Maybe I've been lucky, but I have yet to have that kind of vibration through the wheel on the Focus solely from the tires. I had it once on the last car, but the front rotors were dying and replacing them fixed the problem.

Is there a place in Pembroke that does this?
We got my gf's HRi's (4 of them) at OK Tires in Pembroke a few years ago.
