I Think I Know Whats Replacing The Focus.

I know!

that's the first thing I thought when I sat in it.. "S2steeda fits in this?".. granted, maybe the seats weren't all the way back (power seats), but if you put the front seats back further, you really don't have any back seats...

Ok.. so maybe there really is enough leg room with the seats all the way back and no passengers in the rear, but the car is very narrow on the interior as well. I was sitting normally in the seat, and my buddy who came along decided to close the door on me... my elbow hit the sill, my shoulder was nearly touching glass.

and I was also surprised by how low the tilt steering maxes out at. If I owned the car for a couple of weeks, all of my pants would have rubbed through just above the knees.

And it's heartbreaking, because I really like the cars... I don't care for the c30 that much, but the other series cars, I love, but there's just no room for wide-asses like myself to fit comfortably in those cars.

Actually the DSG is a fully automated clutch for a manual, amongst other things. It CAN shift automatically, or you can do all the shifting (via paddle/button, sure) and really lay waste to a lot of manuals.

Check Youtube for the Best Motoring episode where they take a DSG GTi and put it against a stick GTi and a Renault Megane with 220HP. Got it - http://youtube.com/watch?v=gmMNRQ1GJ3o

If I find it again, I'll link it.

To be fair, I was less than impressed with the 6-speed Tiptronic in the 5-door Rabbit we test-drove. It was slick, but it was laggy to shift for sure.

Adam, its a preference thing. You obviously like auto's, I dont like them at all. Well, the accord isnt bad, its the most responsive auto Ive driven so far.

If I want to paddle shift, I'll play some GT4. :P

^^ I'm not knocking your preferences or anything, but surely there's a reason why Ferrari, Audi and others all offer them ;)

Best of luck in your hunt, man.

thats not the point. The svt started out at what? 28k?, and it certainly wasnt worth it. But people still paid those prices.

Like I said, I wouldnt pay 34 for the c30 either...id wait for something off lease. Then again, I dont think id ever buy a brand new car unless I had money growing on a tree.

The fact that it doesn't stand out, that it doesn't scream "Hey look at meee! I have a turbo'd 5cyl...lets race!" Is kinda the point...

In 2002 a starting price for the svt was 28G, a fully loaded one 30G. I think that's a good deal for the money(cosworth R&D is not cheap) B)

I got my '02 for $24K loaded. The window sticker was just under $32K. With the delay because of the cruise control problems, by November '02 there were lots to choose from.

I got my SVTF when they first came out. I paid 30,100. Then I got a cheque in the mail from Ford for just under $3000. I also got the 1 of 450 limited SVTF framed print. I think it was worth the money. I don't care what anyone else paid. I paid what it was worth to me.

The Ralliart's fine if you want a lot of non-functional cladding powered by a 4-banger engineered by International Harvester. The EVO's block it is not.

I went to the build and price on Volvo.ca, and IF they gave me $26K-$27K for my car on a trade in (still under 25,000km's, etc), I'd actually have a fully loaded C30 T5 for LESS money each month than the stang...

That T5 looks awesome, and it looks BETTER than the MS3 or the GTi IMO...
