coolsvt,May 26 2006, 11:47 PM Wrote:http://www.dpccars.com/car-movies/05-26-06...vsMustangGT.htmThat's a fair comparison. A $60G sports car against a $27G muscle car, that's comparing apples to apples. You can't even FIT 4 people in the Lotus let alone seat them. I think limey boy forgets what it's like to have 3 friends, or proper dental care for that matter. TEAM PITA: Don't settle for a wannabe, only accept the real deal.

Agree. For another 10k, put in a twin turbo package in the mustang and watch the Lotus employees cry.

Yeh..what a stupid comparison,,,
just another way for top gear to trash N/A cars

converting the currencies, that's a $67,000 car vs a $45,000 car.. which isn't really apples to apples, but i think it proves the point he was making.
Big and brash vs small and refined. which one won? I don't think it was strictly about cost, and he admitted it (the outcome wasn't a surprise). Top Gear will always be ragging on american cars.. I don't blame them.. we get a good amount of crap here... if I had the choices in cars they had, I'd be ragging on american cars too. But it's totally different in the UK.. you have to remember that a car is a luxury there... at over $2/L for gas, they know the privelege of driving, while here, it's more a birth-right.. But there are some american cars that they love... the Focus ST, the GT, etc... granted, all top dollar machines tho. I still love Top Gear.. it's great entertainment, and what they have to say about american manufacturers isn't all incorrect. From puppet's link...
Quote:The only worry is that if I did buy a Mustang, Iâd get the car over here and on a wet November night realise that, actually, what I wanted to bring home was San Francisco. Ghey...

That's a sweet Lotus. The comparison was a little lopsided, but ultimately it just showed the track prowess of a track-geared car.
I don't have the $67,000 kicking around for that car... but I wish they'd have them over here, regardless :)
