It's a whole lot of nothing much....

make a big production, spew off about America and Family business, and hope people buy the marketing.

It reminds me a lot of the old mid 80's "Made in USA" thing.... only they've included a little bit of truth in the background story.

The best part is, in the prologue video is the guys saying, "WHOA! THAT CAR SURE GONNA SELL!"...

they're all factory workers! I'm sorry, but how many cars can you sell to your own factory workers.. is that a viable business plan? only sell to your employees?

okay.. I'm being a bit cynical.. it's a neat concept, but honestly, I don't get the feeling that the intentions they pose for the site are the same ones driving the site.

last time i checked, the titanic didn't hit the iceberg because they didn't make a movie about it. ;) But then they made a LOT of movies about it.

The thing that gets me in that Video is that " Ford is a Family, a Family that listens " well if they do why don't they listen to the rest of their family in other parts of the world and use that knowlegde to their advantage then ?

like let the Focus go up scale with the European Verisons
Introduce the Ikon, or Fiesta to replace it in the lower income or entry level.
Offer more Engine Choices like that in Europe.
Introduce Hybrid tech, to all models of Fords, including with a Diesel Hybrid.
offer more choice in colours, and upgrades, and be Mod friendly.
Improve all around Dealership Experences other then when you buy it there.
Lower the costs to repair the car, at the dealerships.
Redesign Every Model every 4 years like that of everyother car compay (cept GM)
Stop Focusing on Trucks, and SUV's, more so with Gas Prices at all time highs.

those would be good example of where to start.
I was the only member on this board with a Yellow Focus Sedan, and a 2002+ Euro Facelift on a sedan.
