Save your Money And cut the Stock One.
Ive used a Steeda, And a B&M.
My Cut Stock Shifter still has less throw.
Also If your Interested I have a Steeda Tri-AX/F FOrsale.
This has been welded to make it stronger then its original state
Does Not come with Rlockout, Gasket.
Will add a Momo Leather shift knob if interested.
40$ for both.

Please dont cut it. ^^ thats the worst advice.
Yeah sure its shorter, but the fit and feel is crap compared to the B&M. I've had the stock one cut, bought a B&M a few years back and to this day I say its one of the best mods Ive done.

Why do you want a shorter shifter? I had a focus central race shifter, steeda tri-ax, both sucked balls, and I went back to the stock shifter. I can shift way faster with the stock unit than with those notchy little things.
maybe the B&M is better, I felt another members shifter (oh that doesn't sound good) and it felt much better than the 2 other shifters I tried.
I still think that I can shift better with the stock unit...

I purchased the ebay short shifter, and install early last year or the year before... can't quite remember, but have been using it ever since, and absolutely love it!
My gf found a big difference in the throw between the gears!

Maybe you had the 1st gen models that broke a lot, they redesigned it a while ago though.
B&M is far from a peice of s***. But heh, its your car, do what you want. :D

From Steedafocus.com's description of the short shifters they have a picture of the two shiftknobs put on the Focus.. The left had the "early" silver knob with black shift pattern, and the right side had the "late" black rubber knob with silver shift pattern. This is quoted from the website:
The early style shift knob is on the left, Late style shift is on the right.
Cars built before April '02 have the early style.
Cars built after April '02 have the late style.
Cars built in April '02 must be checked and verified.
So if your car was built in May, then according to Steeda you have the mid-02-04 shifter. If you pop your shifter boot off you can easily see which style you have though.
