Chrysler group is recalling nearly 150,000 Jeep Grand Cherokees because cooling-fan blades may break, Automotive News reported.

A broken fan could hurt people near the vehicle if the hood is open.

The recall involves some 2000 and 2002 Grand Cherokees equipped with 4.0-liter, 6-cylinder engines.

Dealers are to replace the fan modules. Robert Bosch Corp. was the supplier of the original equipment, according to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents.

In other actions announced by NHTSA:

Chrysler also is recalling about 112,000 2003-04 Grand Cherokees so seat heaters can be replaced. ( listed here on FocusCanada )

Mercedes-Benz is recalling 433 SLR McLarens built for the 2005-06 model years so changes can be made to prevent engine-compartment overheating.

Nissan is recalling 201,000 2003 Altima and Sentra models equipped with a 2.5-liter engine to correct engine temperature fluctuations that potentially could cause sudden engine shutdown. ( listed here on FocusCanada )

Toyota is recalling 9,400 2007 FJs because the inner bead of each tire may be damaged. If so, the tires will be replaced

Cadillac is recalling 7,700 2004-05 XLR models because the bulbs for front turn signals, parking lights and daytime running lights fail prematurely.

Audi is recalling 66,000 1998-2000 A6, A6 Avant, S6 and S6 Avant models because the headlight-switch wiring may short on driver-side crossmember cover if previous recall work was not performed properly.

Hyundai is recalling 44,000 2006 Sonatas because airbag warning labels are not properly attached to sun visors.

Chevrolet is recalling 2,000 2006 Impalas with manual passenger-seat adjuster because the adjuster mounting-bracket weld is located incorrectly.
