Interior Dress Up Opinions Wanted
#1
I'm starting to get that itch to deal with the acres & acres of plastice in the Focus interior.

Did a little research on Ebay and came up with two options:

Vinyl Applique

Alternate dressup kit

The first is simply a vinyl applique kit, I'd be looking at as close to a silver as I could get in terms of the colour (I have the dark interior.

The second is somthing more permanent, I'd be looking at either the aluminum or the chrome option (Bear in mind I've already upgraded the HVAC knobs with the brushed aluminum ones from Steeda)

Any thoughts? Other options? Quit while I'm ahead?

I'm liking the brushed aluminum look. Would look really good with the new knobs from steeda.

well you get what you pay for.....

and the second option looks like pretty good quality

i'd say either the carbon fibre or the cherry burl wood, because the other colours look better with the darker coloured dash

and lots of pics before and after!! :D

I like the brushed aluminum one.. not feeling for the wood so much.

My vote is for either the brushed aluminum or the silver... the wood reminds me too much of my dad's old Buick paddy wagon... everyone knows the ones I'm talking about... with the "wood" panneling down the sides :)
Does a shorty anntena count as a mod?? Wink

Brushed aluminum or carbon fiber, they would both look great imo.

I wouldnt put any of those vinyl sticker kits in my car, they just look a little cheap. If you want something silver you'd probably be better off just painting it.. but I know everyone isnt in to painted interiors. I'd just stay away from the fake carbon fiber and fake wood sticker kits, that s*** is just tacky.

Actually the second kit wasn't vinyl stickers but was actual applique, hassle was that applique left no space for the traction control switch. I hardly trust myself to paint stone chips right NVM the interior of my car

I've got some brushed aluminum / aluminum-coloured inserts in the interior... it offsets the outside nicely. Go aluminum. :)

Update:

Found an Ebay kit that had all the spaces I needed for my tranny tunnel (Heated Seats and TC) here:

WARNING! The installation video will start playing after the page loads completely

2005 Ford Focus Brushed Aluminum Dash Trim Kit

Best news is that they're local and offer pickup, so I'm grabbing the kit this week and I'll be bringing it to the BBQ to install.

My car is going to be looking seriously pimp y0! :P

That is the same kit that Matt has in his car! Burnin' 21 !!! They used to be in Montreal, but now I guess they are in TO! Great find!! I was going to buy the kit last year, and noticed Matt had it in his car.... never did purchase it... Oh well... I'm painting on my own now!!
