Jesus.
I'm crazy about my car. So crazy I thought I might start a thread about all the little things THAT I MYSELF NOTICED about the car THAT I MYSELF didn't particuallary care for.
I'm not bashing the beloved Focus.

I know your not stupid, you're driving a Focus.
However some people will bash a car for some really stupid things. There a few things that I think could have been designed better, but, I, like you, enjoy the car I have.

Sell your manual Focus and buy an automatic! Problem solved :D  I keed, I keed

I have an automatic, and I'm the one who mentioned the armrest. Like I said, there is no such thing as a perfect car. I've adapted the way I pull up on the handbrake. No big deal.

 Maybe it's just because my right arm is so crooked that I don't notice the poor placement of the handbrake (It actually falls quite readily to hand, it's the release button I have problems with)
It could be worse, we could be using a foot operated parking brake :P

All the things I've stated are not BAD things, There just things I thought could be a bit better.

Ah yes the Crapalier, with the disintegrating head gaskets
My mom owns a '95 with 80,000km on it, she's terrified to go any distance with it now because her mechanic basically said when and not if the headgasket was gonna go...
I keep trying to get her to look at a Focus, she likes mine but she's still wavering...

Some people think there is a perfect car. I had a Taurus, transmission went at 55,000 kms. Won't get one again, even if it given to me. Escort was a lot of fun for the money.

I don't think it's an entry level POS....entry level is a Chevy Aveo, Hyundai accent, Daewoo Lanos, etc.
I have grown to live with the cars quirks, as I have with every vehicle I've owned, and it's kinda funny, but it all adds to the owner/driver experience, and it's kinda fun when you can talk to people that know nothing about the Focus, and are able to help them out.
I am going to help a friend of mine find a ZTW wagon, and maybe convince some other co-workers to consider a Focus as well.
I'll wait until they release the MKII, and then I'll be 1st in line to buy one...

The RPM hang is on all new cars (well ford at least)... it's an emissions thing.
