So winter is approaching and i want to go boost!

any ideas how 1 might do this on an svt?

3. SVT_DEAN did it, but he doesnt come around too often. Only to show off. (if you do talk to him, dont let any of his "models" near your car, you might get some permanent reflections etched into your paint.......it wont be pretty) :ph34r:

You'll need hardware. You can peice a kit together and get somebody to make you the piping...or buy a kit. I'd peice out the kit, you'll learn more that way.

You should start shopping for...

-Injectors (cfm, zx3tuning, steeda)
-FMIC (tappauto.com)
-MAF (tappauto.com)
-ECU Software (SCT, Diablo has a programable tuner, and I know tuners in the area with that software)
-K&N Cone Filter (3")
-Turbo header (jgs, I really dont know where else you could go with a svt)
-Turbo (depends on what your looking for)
-Oil feed & return lines for that turbo (wherever you get your turbo, they should be able to provide the lines for it)
-Piping for IC to TB, IC to Turbo, DP to exhaust (Vibrant)
-Blow off valve/bypass valve
-Wastegate
-Exhaust/turbo Flanges, nuts, bolts, exaust sealer
-Boost guauge
-AF Wideband guage

Nice to have but not needed

-Turbo timer
-Elec Boost control

I'll add that for a MAF, you can pickup a Mustang GT MAF and it will work well, you may want ot check with your tuner, maybe a lightning maf would work well also, then just get 4 of the 42# injectors that come with the lighting and your golden.

you do not want to run a larger MAF from a GT or lightning for anything under 300fwhp.
scale your MAF tables and tune the car properly for the best results. large diameter MAFs loose resolution at lowerr speeds and loads.
I'd suggest a Diablo MAFia to alter you stock MAF and get a 3" housing for it, that is all you need to do ir right.

you can piece together a custom kit but Xios is also working on a SVT kit and there are often used kits for sale on FJ or FF. Zetec kits will work, you will just have the change or alter the TB pipe to work with the SVT.

tuning is the key here, don't scrimp or look for a good deal.
find a good tuner who has done turbo Focus' before and pay what it costs.
don't be cheap when it comes to tuning.... it could cost you an engine.

42lb injectors are the way to go but 36s will also work.

I thought you could get the "user SCT" for around 300-400 i think.. or its the xcal2 just without the option to tune ..

the pro racer package comes with tunning software and the flasher. does anyone on this forumn have just the software, so i could insall it on the computer or burn a copy 300$ just for software is wayyy to much. i wis sct would release a basic tunning software for free.

or make it capable to use turbo edit, or crome or other free softwares.

the software is Vin and Computer locked.
you could copy the software but you couldn't use it...
they did that so people couldn't STEAL the program. :)

you can't do anything with the software.. Each time you install the software, it creates a key that you have to call or email to them with your name, info etc... then when its all verified they send you another key that you put in the software to unlock.. they dont love giving keys either

i think someone, by someone i mean a very smart person, should figure a way get a program to tune the damn sct programers, i understand sct want to make money, but they are making it way to expensive for us DIY people, i understand the programmer is advanceed technology, and i dont mind payin the 500$ for the scanner, but come on alteast let us tune the damn thing by our self. for christ sakes honda people can have their ecu chipped and able to tune for a mere 150$ or less, for a DIY focus guy the only cheap alternative is megaquirt but i havent seen any focuses run on it. but im seriously considering selling the sct flasher and picking up megasquirt just so i can tune by myself.

Hey kamilk69, theres a shop in Burlington called DL Motorsports that can install something called (E-Manage) and tune your car to the MAX. This guy knows his S#$%.....

yea greddy e-manage is a piggy back system, and the stock ecu is tooo smart and eventually learns around the emanage, ive looked into it. its agreat system for jap cars tho.

^^^^ Kamilk is right, I've looked into the Emanage as well, and I was talking with Mike from DL Motorsport about it. If I drove an RX7 or a Supra I would go see him, but I drive a Focus, so Steeda does my tuning. The E-manage isnt a good bargain for the Focus, you'll end up selling it to get SCT Software....... I know.
