Help , Suggestion Needed On How To Polish Mag Lips
#21
Mag # 2 .

Left side the one I just did and right , the one I'm attacking , this one has road rash . I had to use a drill with a sand paper wheel 180 grids to sand down the deep scratchs and after that , work my way up , #320 , #400 , #600 , #1000 , #2000 , and paste wheel polish . Can't tell if it's the best way to do it but it works pretty good .

I spoke with one of my co-workers who has been painting for 10+ years at Ford and has a small paint shop on the side.
I am sorry I never mentioned this to anyone earlier, but he does painting for just about anything right now (really nice custom work too) and is cheap.
He is looking at painting Seadoo's for the winter, at get this, under $500 a unit with custom graphics of your choice.
Why I mention this in your topic?
I spoke to him about clear coat on rims and he said that there is a plyable clearcoat that is almost like a silicone type produst that is great for rims and helps from the peeling you have incurred.
I realize your in Quebec, but for those in Ontario, he lives in Stoney Creek.

Except he told me today he doesn't do anything but water based paints.

So no automobiles.

One more to go to finish this set , next week I'll jack the car up and have the tires removed to do the one on the 03 and from there I'll pick the best looking one , keep them for the 03 and the other one will go on the beater next summer.. Unless I destroye one like I did 2 summer ago , I praticly exploded it....

All 8 of them are done , it looks way better then before. When I bought the 2nd set of wheels it was to make one nice set but now they are so nice that I have mags and tires for the beater next summer too unless I destroy a mag like I did 2 years ago.

Here's the final result.

Hopefully I'll be able to get them mounted next week.

Still waiting for my rear camber kit to show up and I'll be picking up my shocks and struts next week and start taking the suspension apart.
