I've noticed that behind the front wheel wells, underneath the car on the rocker panels, the paint is beginning to peel. Is there a quick fix? other than repainting the car any other colour than white? Maybe some racing stripes?

Well, I'm in the process of fixing it currently on mine. I'm taking a multi step approach.
1. Repaint with a rust paint primer then with silver
2. Install ZX3 style rocker skirts
3. Install mud flaps
I'll be ready for offroading forsure after that! :D
You could always paint with primer, apply paintable undercoating, then paint white as well as install mud flaps. I chose the skirts since they are easily reversible.

I'm been shopping for a new winter car, and EVERY car that failed to have the rust proof done has insane rust under the car for 00-02 years.
Every car from 00-04 that did not have the rocker skirts or mudflaps has this SAME rust right behind the front wheels. The worst rust has always been on white cars probably because you can see it easier.
I would say have it professionally fixed and rust proofed with some sort of warranty. That'll probably run about 300-500 bucks dependong on the damage already done. Then get mudflaps and your set.
The zx3 skirts will fit but will require modification to fit due to 2 doors vs 4 doors but it should be easy enough.

No modifications needed to make the skirts fit a sedan or wagon, as it slides under the body seam under the doors. Check Street edition wagons, as they had the skirts from the factory. Pics once I finish it... :)

All Focus' are the same from the rear tires forward to the front bumper as any side skirts from a ZX3 will fit a Sedan, Wagon & ZX5 & more then likely the new 2008 Coupe too as it's the same frame as the New Sedan too.
