Fordââ¬â¢s EcoBoost to carry $700 premium
8-18-8
Source: leftlanenews
Ford will charge $700 for its fuel-saving, high performance EcoBoost motor when it is launched early next year in the Lincoln MKS sedan and Ford Flex crossover wagon. Ford says that the V6 version of the motor, which will be the initial offering at its launch, will improve fuel economy by as much as 20 percent over a V8 while providing similar - if not better - power.
For 2010, the EcoBoost motor will show up in the F-150 pickup with, according to a Ford spokeseman quoted in Automotive News, ââ¬Åsignificantly moreââ¬Â than 340 horsepower and 340 lb-ft. of torque.
Though Ford hasnââ¬â¢t released details on its four-cylinder EcoBoost - expected to make up a large percentage of EcoBoost sales - the automaker did tell Leftlane that it expects more than 90 percent of 2013 Ford vehicles to have EcoBoost motors under the hood. The EcoBoost motor combines turbocharging with variable valve timing and other performance and efficiency-boosting techniques designed to produce power of a larger engine with efficiency of a smaller engine.

Well $700 for any engine option is not bad at all, plus it saves you fuel.

Assume even only 15% "real world" fuel savings over a non-Ecoboost engine of similar displacement, that $700 will be made up quick at least in the truck (Not so sure about MKS unless it's driven a fair bit per year )

Saying ^^^ that is a truck is like saying this:
is a cabin cruiser.
Ask some of the Ridgeline customers about their rear quarters creasing driving through a ditch.

Umm, its not really a truck, it dosn't have a low range for its AWD, its an SUv with a four foot box. I think it does look better then the sport track though, but the sport trac has a real 4WD system.
I would bet that the Ridgeline is far better on gas though, I just don't think they are ment to be used like other trucks (work, offroad, payload)
