Today only - a poll on whether you believe in evolution or not. The third choice? The words of our illustrious Minister of State for Science and Technology.
This is a bad precedent, folks. Religion is a belief system, not a firewall or insulating blanket. One should be able to discuss religion comfortably. Furthermore, if you're asked if you believe in evolution as the Minister for Science - you either say "yes" or "no". It's simple, really. The answer is quite telling and shows whether or not we have the right person in place for the job.
When research dollars are drying up and people want to know why (or wonder what they'll do to keep scientists on our side of the border, working on the important stuff)... the answer to, "Do you believe in evolution?" is quite a simple one to proffer.
