Just wondering...if I run catless...I will get a CEL...will it hinder my engine performance if the CEL is on?

i hollowed out my cat a year ago, it ran in limp mode until i unplugged the battery for 20 mins, now it runs like a champ

The O2 cheater is simply wired into the wire leading to the rear 02 sensor. It is a two minute job and BlackZX3 aka Ben makes them.

Had mine for about 2 years no CEL.

Oh when you hollowed your cat you lost performance more than likely better for you to put in an ORP or a high flow cat.

If you want to spend $300 for an additional flashing unit, I can make you a tune to eliminate whatever you want... EGR, O2, speed limiter.... :P (free retunes if you add other stuff)

or you could buy the $10 o2 cheater... your call ;)

Also yes with a CEL you car does go into a limp mode not the same from result of overheating but it will adjust fuel to insure safety.

Well it was just a question, I do I have a Highflow cat, but I still got a CEL. BUt I got the chip so it's gone. Just wondering how my engine would function without the chip.

if you have a highflow cat, I wouldn't think you'd be getting a CEL... did you get the code before you put the chip in?

No I was a dumbass and reset the ECU, the code was gone. Got the chip, and no CEL ever since.

Another reason I ask this is because my old man has a Lincoln LS8. He want's to put in a Performance Exhaust. But the ECU box is sealed and can't reprogram the ship. Just wanted to know if a CEL will limp mode Ford cars. By the way, Lincoln has NOTHING in ways of modding the engine.

Also, my bfriend's WRX is running catless at the moment and has a CEL, but with their cars it doens't affect the engine at all....other than 30 more HP!!! :angry:

i have the diablo sport chip so i really don't think i need an 02 cheater even though my cat is hollowed. if i am wrong someone let me know thanks
