Transport Canada issues latest recalls

Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Toyota, Pontiac, Volvo, Mitsubishi and Nissan vehicles.

2009-2010 Toyota Matrix
2009-2010 Toyota Corolla
Vehicles affected: 103,932

On certain vehicles, when driven in extremely low ambient temperatures, the intake manifold suction port for the brake vacuum can become blocked due to condensation freezing from the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV). Should the port become blocked, vacuum assist to the brakes would be insufficient, with an increase in pedal pressure and vehicle stopping distance. Dealers will install a newly-designed intake air connector which will relocate the brake system vacuum port.

2009-2010 Pontiac Vibe
Vehicles affected: 15,951

2008-2010 Volvo S80
2010 Volvo XC60
2009-2010 Volvo XC70
Vehicles affected: 12,72

On certain vehicles, the software within the Central Electronic Module (CEM) may not send a signal to the Fuel Pump Electronic Module (PEM). This missing signal to the PEM inhibits the start of the fuel pump. The driver may be able to start the engine and drive a short distance at idle in spite of this, due to residual pressure in the fuel system, but the engine will eventually stall. Dealers will upgrade the CEM software.

2008-2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution
2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart
2009 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart Sportback
Vehicles affected: 1,300

On certain vehicles, the fuel return pipe may develop stress cracking and leak under certain conditions. Dealers will replace the fuel return pipe and install two additional pipe brackets.

2009-2010 Nissan Altima
2009-2010 Nissan Maxima
Vehicles affected: 2,260

On certain vehicles, the metal upper strut insulators may have been manufactured incorrectly and could fail. In the worse case, this could allow the strut rod to come out of its mounting position, affecting vehicle handling. Dealers will replace the front strut insulators.

I was the only member on this board with a Yellow Focus Sedan, and a 2002+ Euro Facelift on a sedan.
