Torsen Lsd Install
#1
As the title states I want to install my Torsen LSD - I can't find a how to on this site (link is 404) and my Ford Service DVD is no help (tells me how to disassemble the differential, but not how to replace it) ... and so I thought I'd ask here first.

Who's done it and how difficult was it?

TIA

Ken

i personally suggest removing tranny and having a transmission shop do just the install of it. saves on R&R of tranny. If not, try posting up on either FF or FJ. i suggest FJ tho in shift it section.

cheers

Reviews are mixed, some shops just drop it in, while others measure as per the ford specs and shim accordingly.

If I were to do it again, i'd get on the horn with terry haynes and try and arrange something. As he is the only one that may have stock of the good synchros for the MTX-75. So you can shift while under hard load and not blow a syncho. My synchros were toast

Also for Auto-X personally I think the 4.06 gearing really shines in track use. Definetly not on street for MPG! - found that out pretty fast!

As every goddamn manual ever written, filmed and produced for an automobile has ever stated "install in reverse order of removal" <_<
