Transport Canada issues latest recalls

Ottawa, Ontario – Transport Canada has issued its latest recalls, which may affect some Lexus, Suzuki, and Nissan vehicles.

2010 Lexus HS250h
Vehicles affected: 600

Certain vehicles may not meet the requirements of the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for fuel system integrity. After a rear impact crash test during a federal compliance testing program, the post-crash fuel spillage exceeded the limit specified by the standard. The cause of the compliance failure is currently under investigation by the company, and further details will follow. Customers with questions should contact Lexus Canada at 1-800-265-3987.

2011 Suzuki Kizashi
Vehicles affected: 665

On certain vehicles, the instrument panel centre lower box door may not remain closed in a crash situation, which does not conform with the Canada Motor Vehicle Safety Standard for occupant protection. Dealers will repair the affected vehicles.

2002 Infiniti QX4
2002 Nissan Pathfinder
Vehicles affected: 14

On certain vehicles, due to a problem during the airbag inflator assembly process, some front passenger airbag inflators may be missing components. If an affected airbag deployed, increased internal pressure might create an irregular deployment, increasing the risk of injury to a front passenger. Dealers will inspect and replace the front passenger airbag module as required.

2006-2008 Lexus IS350
2007-2008 Lexus LS460
2007-2008 Lexus LS460L
2008 Lexus LS600hL
Vehicles affected: 3,700

On certain vehicles, the engine valve spring materials may contain micro-foreign objects, reducing their strength and potentially causing them to degrade and break. If a valve spring breaks, abnormal noise and rough engine performance will be noticed. In a worst-case scenario, the engine could fail and stop suddenly while the vehicle is in motion. Dealers will install new valve springs.
I was the only member on this board with a Yellow Focus Sedan, and a 2002+ Euro Facelift on a sedan.

I didn't even know that there was a standard for fuel spillage after a crash Undecided

Whatever it is I hope its damn low, like maybe 50ml, 'cause any more than that and there's a much higher risk of you being the "guest of honour" at a carbeque Confused
