Reflash for 91 octane, bump rev limiter to 7200 RPM (Duras pull hard enough through 7K with CAI and exhaust), suspension, brake pad upgrades / rotors, cold air intake, 2.5" exhaust. Remove the secondary cat while you're at it - it won't trip any sensors to do so. Then, lightweight wheels and decent tires.
Daily driver 1: 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport "S"

33" BFG Mud-Terrain KM2s, lots of Rough Country gear - bumper, 2.5" lift, swaybar disconnects, Superwinch 10,000lb winch, Detroit Locker in rear D44 axle, custom exhaust, K+N filtercharger, Superchips-tuned.

Daily driver 2: 2006 Subaru Legacy GT

COBB Stage 1+ package - AccessPort tuner, COBB intake and airbox. Stage 2 coming shortly - COBB 3" AT stainless DP and race cat, custom 3" Magnaflow-based exhaust and Stage 2 COBB tune.

seriously, i wouldn't do anything to a BRAND new focus. I got my 2010 brand new and i don't want to take the chance of voiding any warranties.. thats just my take on it

You can reflash the ECU with a far more aggressive tune and to properly utilize 91 octane fuel - and you will indeed make a bit more power, especially with intake and an exhaust. Otherwise, if you just throw in 91 octane, you're wasting it.

Get the stance right.

Anthony hit the nail on the head. Bang for the buck, you can't beat lowering it. It was by far the most noticable change on my car, and you'll no-longer look like a 4x4... Add a rear sway bar if you don't have one already too.

Except for this last one ... all of my Focus have been acquired new (and leased to boot) ... the first thing I did to all of them was to lower it and I never had any problems with warranty coverage whatsoever ... in fact I did a lot more to the 07 ZXW and it had a new engine replaced under warranty.

If you ask Ford, the answer will of course be - anything you do to your car that isn't Ford will void the warranty. For a long time they would even tell you that getting an oil change anywhere but the dealer would also void the warranty.

The real answer - which we can extrapolate from court cases and CAMVAP claims outcomes is that the only way an aftermarket part can "void" the warranty is if the damage was specifically caused by the aftermarket part; and even then it's on a case by case basis - your whole warranty is never voided.

So if you lower your car and you have an engine problem that's covered by the warranty, Ford has no cause to deny the claim.

If, on the other hand you lower your suspension and your stock sway bar link breaks, then yeah - Ford could legitimately deny your claim ... but that's not the same as voiding your warranty.
