Fitness Update - End of April
#1
So, we're 4 months in on the year. How many of you are sticking to what you want to do for yourself? How many of you need a kick in the butt? Big Grin

I figured I'd put this up with the caveat that I've been doing this for over 2 years now. The first year was cutting and strength-building. The second has been packing on lean mass. My goal? To keep slabbing on lean mass while always, ALWAYS being able to "see" my abs - i.e. stay around 10% body fat.

Right now I don't have access to a scale, but I'd wager that I'm at or just under 200lbs. I'll probably shed a few when I get home as I've been eating like crap while I'm gone for the most part.

Just. Keep. Lifting. Smile

I'm having a rough start to the year. Just getting through the bad news health and family wise... and I know I'd be better off if I can get on schedule -- you can't look after other people if you don't look after yourself first, so I hope to get caught up on sleep first, and then get the fitness routine started back up again.

I'm already making plans to ride the bike to work regularily this summer. God bless the offices with secure locking facilities. I'd ride every day if I could.

Doing well here.
I started seriously back at it in February and managed to drop a cool 15 lbs. the first month. I've since gained 10 of those back in muscle and was recently informed that I've dropped 8lbs. of fat mass.

All good!
I'm starting to find definition in my arms and upper abs that wasn't there before. the gut is disappearing and people are starting to notice. (I actually noticed a lady giving me the second look last week.)

I have a tough time eating well when traveling, especially when I'm down south... (Nashville, Tennessee, Kentucky...) Everything is fried and covered in some sort of white gravy in these places. Airports are not healthy places....
I find I'm eating a lot of fruit and salad when I can. (Not always easy to find in Zeke's BBQ hut)

I've hired a trainer and log my workouts, I must say I feel better, sleep better, and am a little more "fresh" at work.

I'm looking forward to seeing more results soon.

23, and can't say I've ever lifted a weight or been to gym a day in my life other then at school!! While in highschool I was 220-225 with a 42" waist, went to university, halfway through the year I was around 180 with 34" waist... I'm very physically active and work my ass off.. Also, grew up on a farm lifting hay bails an feeding horses an cows... So if I ever wanted to lean up I could just work a little more... But now I'm in a great routine.. My wife cooks awesome meals, and I work hard from 7-4... right now I'd say I'm close to 185-190... And my 34" pants fall off me!

Attaboy Anthony! I'd skip fruit if you're looking to drop fat mass as the natural sugars work against you along with the rest of your carb intake for the day. Salads are good tho - spinach is excellent, so is a whack of radish on them. Use carrots if you need a sweet fix.

It's good to hear so many are actually getting active here! It's good to hear you haven't lost sight of the game, Steve. Smile Can't wait till you're back at it!

Still wailing away on the EA Sports Active 2 (Second go round on the 9 week program in phase two ATM)

Eating wise I'm really trying to stay away from the crap the best I can. I mean when I can turn down Easter chocolates with a smile on my face... a few years ago I'd be milling into that stuff and moaning about a bloated gut afterward.

I still don't have any real definition to speak of though Sad

Was down to 266 but since have *sigh* gained 6 pounds. I don't understand it, been eating good, exercising still 2-3 times a week. Stupid arm is really f**ked up bad still after 3 months. Gonna go see a doctor when time permits.

Don't let an injury set you back my man. I was working out like mad a few years back and caught a bad case of the flu. I never went back to the gym after that.

Been going to the gym 4-5 times a week as always. That's with 10 hour working days. Basically I get home by like 8:30-9pm

Here's a sort-of bad picture from when I was working out in Santiago over the last couple of weeks. I'm heading to 22 Wing this afternoon - MAN, did I ever miss real gyms. Of course, I found a wicked one not 2 blocks from my hotel on my last day there! At least I know where to go now when I return. I'll definitely be back down there again.

I'm at it again, well after a week off since last Tuesday's wicked gym run. I've cleaned up the camp, the house and prepped the car (which is now at my neighbour's place - the clutch is being installed and the front passenger wheel bearing is being replaced.

I'm going for no less than last week's numbers and progressing where I can.

Nik, you're doing decent man! Keep going!

Down to 261lbs Smile. My original goal was 240 by april 1 and 200 by July 1, but that might be a little hard to hit with my lifestyle. I'm guessing it will be another year before I hit those numbers as I hit about 1.5lbs a week lost.
