K... Still tryin to decide on some rims but it's a hard decision for me on which ones I wanna drop 1500 on.... I've got it down to two now for sure...
Choice 1:
Sparco Assetto Gara 17x7
42mm offset
5.62" backspacing
17.9lbs
Choice 2:
Kazera KZ-P 17x7.5
45mm offset
6.02" backspacing
18.8 lbs
I'm kinda leaning towards the kazeras with more width and I like how the spokes are meatier than the sparcos! Let me know what your thinking... Both are on tire rack if you want a little more info on em.

the Sparcos will fit more 'flush' with your fenders than the Kazeras. Plus, their lighter. Too bad their narrower. What size tires will you be mounting?
edit: whoops, the width will make up for the offset difference. Comes down to tire size for me then.

The recommended tire size is 205-50-r17... What other size could I run?

Well I know rim size lmao
eg: 205 = tire width in mm
50 = tire sidewall height as a percentage of tire width ... 50% = 102.5mm
and yes, rim size is still in inches.

So a 215/40/17 would be a wider smaller sidewall tire than a 205/50/17?

Yep, you're right.
FYI 215/45/17 is the stock size of the SVT, and the 17" tires on the 2009+ "EAP" rims.
I'm running 215/45/17, with no rubbing on an SVT suspension kit...

215/45R17 it what the majority are running. I am 3" lower than stock in the rear an I only rub the fender liners with 2 adults in the back seat. With the kids and luggage I'm fine.

No I'm on the FRPP coils and Dynamic dampers out of the Ford Racing catalouge. Plus I pulled the rubber isolators out of the rear suspension. Before that I was running the Pro Kit.

Id grab the Sparco's with a nice set of 215-45-17's Falken 912's (Falkens sit a little smaller than most tire brands and should fit without any rubbing).
I have 215-45's on the rear and about a 1.5" drop atm with no issues at all, but I have a 205-50's on the front for now and it rubs in corners and bumps.
When I was 2.2" lowered I ran 215-45-17 with the occasional rubbing from hard driving.
