Hey guys,

What are the symptoms of needing a new DPFE?

My car started running horribly today, but the CEL didn't come on for awhile.

It's at the dealer right now, but I'm crossing my fingers I don't have to pay for this s**t.

Is a DPFE covered under the Extended warranty base care package ya think?

My symptoms:

Car idles somewhat normal, but sounds and accelerates like its running on 3 cylinders. Very tractor like.

Kinda reminds me of a done up STI with the HKS exhaust :lol:

Ah nevermind...

Looks like I was right when I said it was running on 3 cylinders though.

When I got my car back from the dealer a couple days ago, my engine bay was bling bling - super clean. Which was weird, cuz they didn't even wash my car.

Well it looks like water got into my cylinder #1 spark plug hole, and ruined the plug.

Now its a fight with the dealer who has to pay for everything. :angry:

Yup exactly...

The tech finally fessed and up, and said after replacing the alternator he had gotten things real greasy, so he decided to wash the engine bay. Ha good job ya loser :blink:

Well it was free of charge to me, wonder if he had to pay the $100+ though...
