Rims... Need Your Opinion
#1
So yesterday was a great day, left NOS's place with another bud of ours and going to another friend's place when we spotted a nice white Ford Bronco for sale (jacked up 6 inches with a nice off-road setup.

Nonetheless, we got to talking with the owner and he spotted the Focus and asks, "Nice hubcaps!" I looked at him and started to laugh and said "Yeah still haven't got to getting some summer rims and tires." So we talked and he said he had a set of American Racing rims up for sale since he sold his Honda Civic. They are 16" x 7" with Bridgestone Potezna's (205/45R16's).

The rims were one of the following (I wasn't sure and I couldn't get a good part number from them)
or
[Image: b686.jpg]
(note: the bolt pattern was 4 bolt universal, the picture here is just crappy)

The rims were in alright shape, a little bit of polishing and they would be fine. The tires didn't look half bad either. Looks like they had some good tread, probably 70-80%.

He's asking $800.00 for the set, rims and tires.

So what do yall think? This sound like a good deal?

I was thinking about offering maybe $500.00 for the set since the tire size is not exactly right (S/B 205/50R16's)

Edit: This is what the car may look like with the chrome rims.

Make sure they do have the Focus bolt pattern (4x108) first. Not all universal four bolt rims have it (probably most don't). From what I remember most universal bolt patterns are 4x100 and 4x114.5.
I bought a red car, because everyone knows red is the fastest.

Yeah I'd make sure the deal would be subject to installation and proper fit before any money changes hands.

Seems a bit pricey....

They're Crappy Tire rims. Go to Canadian Tire and see what they cost first.

They're nice though.

He's coming in high, probably sold the Civic for less than he wanted to :D

I'd go 650-700 for sure. I mean, they're nice but generic. The tires are probably worth more than the rims themselves.

Stressing the point about making sure the 4x108 pattern is there. Also find out the offset... won't matter unless you lower the car, and even then they're 16's so it won't make a huge difference, but still
