Got it done 3 weeks ago....works so nice. No more engine hesitation....actually the car feels like NEW. Runs better than it ever did before....
PLUS, I got the most mileage ever on one tank of gas....I've never hit the 500 mark on my car, I've came close at 485, 475.....never 500. I got 530 on my first tank of gas with the new pump. Noice! :D
anybody that has not gotten that recall done to their car (I think it applies to 00-01 Focis) should get it done. soooooooooooo worth it.
Especially with our low gas prices :P

Did you replace the filter as well? If not go do it now, you will have even better gas milage.

I had mine done 2 weeks or so after I got the car, and had the fuel filter done at the same time. Now I easily get 450+KMs city even if I'm not nice to the gas pedal

I believe thats what people on FJ refer to as "tip-in".... The car automatically hesitates in first when starting from a stop just to ensure you dont break traction... Nothing a chip and a TB wouldnt get rid of ;)

No, just cleaned off the filter on the CAI.

Do you have the ZETEC or the SPI?
The SPI is cursed with delayed electric secondaries which cause something of a flat spot at WOT in first off the line around 3000-3500 RPMs.
There's a mod you can do for that (several actually, mechanical and electronic ones) to cure it... I've been wary of performing it.
[EDIT] - whoops, quoted the wrong post... but the info still holds true.

Sorry I mean fuel filter, not air filter.

I booked an appointment for a routine #3 and to have them look at my multiple creaks and groans and the service rep says they will do my fuel pump as well.
They are putting these new fuel pumps on EVERY FOCUS that comes through the door whether problems have been reported or not.
So if your dealer hasn't offering the same level of prudence you may want to take your car somewhere else.
This is Bay Ford Lincoln in Yorkville. After lots of bad experiences elsewhere they seem to have be the best Ford dealer service in GTA so far. It is also where "ShineyBlue Escort" works.
