Wastegate Setup?
#1
Just curious. I have seen some ppl set up there wastegates so it dumps it right into the atmosphere (tis what it looks like) then I seen some that go into the exahust? Is there a difference or does it matter?

I been trying to find some picture of how ppl have there dump pipe running but I cant find s**t. Hoping Nate or hardkore can help me.

dumping to atmosphere gives you more power and IMHO sounds SICK. it's just not "legal"

Nate had a 14b with internal wastegate so no dumping. Although you can get a flange and you can still dump the internal to atmosphere.

Sweet.

I just been doing some reading and trying to find different ways of setting up the wastegate. The lines that run from the wastegate. Where abouts do they go?

The lines run from the boost reference plug (in the compressor)to the waste gate nipple.Boost is measure of backpressure, the more backpressure before the turbo the more boost the turbo will support. But keep in mind backpressure after the turbo is a bad thing. To fight back this problem a bigger down pipe(2.5''&up)and a bigger exhaust system will help you reduce this problem and you will make more power at same boost level.
