Look, I've got a pretty good job, and pulling in close to 6 figures. I sometimes surf from work. If I'm clicking around at lunch, and my account manager is in my cube, and I pull that up, I'd likely get fired. If that happen, you can bet I'd be pretty pissed. I'd go to your place and figure out how to get YOU fired and generally ruin your life.

Is it really acceptable at any business to use their computers for non business related material in the first place? Prolly not most business have a code of conduct for using their machines and it normally doesn't allow for non business website or material so going to FJ to begin with in it's right nature should get you fired. The policy of MY company is clear. You ARE allowed to use the internet for non-work related things as long as it's not on company time, and as long as you don't go to any inapproriate sites. I have a 1 hour lunch, and I usually brown bag it. So I surf at lunch. I also work many uncompensated overtime hours, and if I want to take a break, I'm also allowed to.

We have a pretty restrictive nanny filter already on our firewall, to keep us out of trouble. However, it can't catch anything, like when a porn picture is embedded in a non-porn related website.

Look, I found the pic pretty funny too. But there's a time and place for everything. It is complete unacceptable ANYWHERE on Focaljet, as spelled out in the user agreement. What I find incredible is that somebody can't understand that, or could even criticize a website for making the choice to do so.

It should also be unacceptable outside of a NWS post here. I see now that the Off Topic forum is covered by a blanket NWS disclaimer. I guess if that's the policy of this site, then I can't look around on my off time anymore.

This website has about 10 regular members, and 20-30 more occaisionals. It will remain small as long as it's not "family friendly" as there are a lot of people like me.
