What Are Your Most Memorable Movies?
#1
Over the course of your entire life, what movies have made themselves the most memorable to you? Maybe not your favorites, but they very well can be and probably are. That you remember and and open up a whole new dimension of thought, or are unforgetable, and have stuck with you the most?(non porno)

mine are:
1. Jurrasic Park(1993) -
unmatched special effects, especially for an 8 year old for the time. Very memorable, like when the guy gets eaten off the toilet

2. The Great Escape -
cool story losts of drama, happy/sad ending just like WW2, motorcycle jumps with Steve McQueen.

3. Monty Python and the holy grail-
super hillarious movie, so stupid its funny, tons of great quotes, funniest movie ever

4. Blues Brothers(1980)-
Great car chases, and quotes("don't you say a fu&king word"[my favorite quote]), cool story,

5. Commando-
Arnold at his finnest, total nonstop action, and also full of quotes,"let off some steam, Bennett" after he throws a pipe through the guys chest

1. Raiders of the Lost Ark - My favorite part was the blade vs the gun.

2. Full Metal Jacket - "This is my rifle, this is my gun. This is for fighting, this is for fun."

3. Ronin - Best car chase ever (I'd put it in a tie with Bullit)

4. Grapes of Wrath - I just loved this movie...

5. Star Wars - Chewie "RARRGH"

Five greatest movies:

Jurassic Park - I agree completely. A new age in moviemaking was entered in 1993.

X-Men: A ground-breaking, TRUE comic book movie. It paved the way for everything else that has swarmed onto the silver screen, good or bad. That includes Spiderman's successes and some "failures".

X-Men 2: For actually bettering the first movie. They have finally figured out how to keep the "comic book" in a comic book movie. Imagine that.

Das Boot: A chillingly accurate (yet not quite non-fiction) story about the Kriegsmarine under the waves during WWII. Others come close to this level of realism, but not quite. I've forgotten that it was a movie more than once while watching it.

The Hunt for Red October: Cold War sub-hunting in the depths of the North Atlantic. Sean Connery's best movie ever.

33" BFG Mud-Terrain KM2s, lots of Rough Country gear - bumper, 2.5" lift, swaybar disconnects, Superwinch 10,000lb winch, Detroit Locker in rear D44 axle, custom exhaust, K+N filtercharger, Superchips-tuned.

Daily driver 2: 2006 Subaru Legacy GT

COBB Stage 1+ package - AccessPort tuner, COBB intake and airbox. Stage 2 coming shortly - COBB 3" AT stainless DP and race cat, custom 3" Magnaflow-based exhaust and Stage 2 COBB tune.

Scream - just because of the amount of people who walked out after the opening scene.

Goonies - One of my favourites as a child.

Top Gun - watched that movie all the time in grade eight.

A Time to Kill - was going to be a lawyer after watching that movie

Highlander - a movie that I loved growing up, but now watch and think how far we have come with special effects.

Pay it Forward - makes a lot a sense to me. and it didn't have a typical happy ending.

- Akira (another, just plain good)
- Macross (okay, this is cheating, really I remember the Americanized teevee show; RoboTech)

Ah so many more... so many great ones on the lists so far listed... For me 'memorable' and 'favourite' is a tough call and hard to distinguish between the two.

You can't tell me the first time you saw that movie when you were 12 years old it didn't appeal to you?

I thought it was a well written / done movie.
