So is the retail on my house.

The house I was so "crazy" to buy less than 3km from my work at Yonge & St. Clair. Hell I didn't even own a car till I was 30. I never "needed" a car till I bought one.

For me cars are a luxury not a necessity. The folks who do complain have made their cars a necessity and have to be prepaired to pay the price or take other measures.

To spend $40 every 3 days on gas is $400 a month is RETARDED and wasteful. Take what ever you pay per month to live where you do now, add $400 more and see how much closer in miles to your work or school that would get you.

You could be probably be my neighbour.

I got about 28MPG (490km before the empty light came on) in the turbo Focus coming back from Shannonville on Sunday.

WRX gets around 27mpg. And fill up in the US anyway, so the equivalent of only like $0.70/L :P

Kinda funny reading the comments - i've been feeling like this ever since we went metric and the fuktards in the oil companies jacked prices thinking we wouldn't notice - and by and large we didn't.

When I started driving in 1968 gas was about 0.38 per gallon which is about 0.10 per litre and I could put a bucks worth of gas in my dad's '66 Chevy wagon and get a whole night's worth of fun out of it. - even with a 327 4bbl rarely off the floor.

But I read somewhere that once you factor inflation etc. ... that price is about what we're paying now, and today's price is still a far cry from what they pay in the rest of the world (most of it) - so 2001 ZTS, you haven't offended me either.

Cheers.

Did any of you actually believe car ownership was in-expensive? You fuktards probably buy bottled water a $1.07 a half litre and stupid crap lile that, STFU.

Many of you are retards for living so far from where you work in the first place. God damn 905'ers.

As if any of you would actually save a couple bucks per day and actually take a bus. You guy's are too "cool" for that.

Your fat asses ride a bike? As if.

If there is anyone I have NOT yet offended please let me know and I'll try to be more inclusive next time. ;)

Come on people even an out of tune Focus can get 10litres/100km which is about $10.

Me and two others from work took a round trip from hamilton to Toronto and back yesterday. With the A/C on and QEW traffic it cost <$5 per head in fuel for the 160 km round trip. GAS IS CHEAP.

I think its easy to jump on the "take public transit/hug the earth" bandwagon for some people (and just as easy for them to fall off that same bandwagon <_< )

For people like me who are physically disabled and for safeties sake (both for ourselves and other passeengers on public transit) getting reamed by the gas companies is just another kick to the head that we have to take

91.5 on Sunday for 36.5 litres :puke: I'm gonna have to start charging my friends "cab fare" (My car being the most reliable and youngest in our group, the next youngest being a '91 Sunfire that pegs it's temp needle at stoplights  )

Yes car pooling is a smart idea and you could make up some money too.

For those who don't know I'm not a pinko, hippy, tree hugging save the baby sardines person; my job is managing oil tankers after all.

Keep sucking it up people, the more you folks buy the more we have to move and we charge based on demand.

Hey old man. When are you moving closer to your work? Meaning, Hamilton?

Now that's mean and funny at the same time.

The two days a week I drive to Hamilton I get paid $0.42/km or $67.20 for my 180km round trip. I would NOT commute Toronto to Hamilton using my own money.

You heard it right, I won't go to the "Hammer" unless someone pays me to do so.

Take that older man :P

My "old" gas receipts.

Less significant for the price than the fact that it shows you can drive from Douglas Avenue in Windsor to Bathurst and St Clair in downtown Toronto in less than 3 hours including picking up a coffee on the 401 and the time it took to fill up at the end..

Fill in Windsor at 0308 30 Mar 99
Fill again in Toronto at 0602 30 Mar 99

Time difference: 2hr 54min
Distance: 380km
Average speed: 130+km/hr
Car: 1991 Subaru wagon with 92HP
