One of my best friends just recently got in a car accident and she just bought a car that was affordable for her, around $5,500... and that car is a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 or also known as, Ford Escort Coupe.
She joined a forum a couple of days ago to ask questions about the car, modifications, wanted opinions, etc... but noticed it was almost pure American...
Does anyone know of any Escort Club in Canada/Ontario?

her best bet would be to come here, the escort has the same engine as the focus
and i have friend with one that is turbocharged, so i know alot about them

Z is for Zetec engine
X is for the generation
2 is for the two doors
Only made ZX2's in the year 2000
Alright, thanks guys. I try and find him... and yeah, I was thinking she could just come here. But, she still wants to try and find a Escort club.

they had zetec's indeed... I got mine from Big M in Medicine Hat AB in 1998. It was a great car, I blasted 100,000kms in year one :P but it had some wierd and mysterious electrical issues... was glad to pass it on before it caused any problems
I had one prior to my S2. There was a board called zx2ontario but it wasn't too active. There are still some guys around there I think.

I beg to differ ;) I returned home (Ontario) from Alberta in May of 1999 driving my ZX2... it was burnt orange.

definitely have a chat with shiny blue escort... he knows his stuff, that's for sure, and he's a good guy. Crazy like all escort owners tho :P *
if you go to Bay Ford Lincoln you can see his car in person, and I tell ya, it's a lot more impressive in person than it is in the pics... it's a very nice ride.
*just buggin' of course

stopped selling them here in 2000, sold them for longer in the states with some ugly ass front ends.

correct... in canada, they kept selling the escort as a fleet product, maybe for a year or so but essentially the focus was the replacement compact car.

I actually have listings for the escort untill 2003, you just couldn't get them here past late 99
I saw a couple in the states a few weeks ago like three at one truck stop in montana, they aren't that bad up close. What made me notice was the rims
