Help Me Pick A Car.
#1
Well now i've decided that in the next few weeks i'm going to start looking into a different car. all the troubles i'm having at ford and all the consistent downtime. Not to mention the problems with the car ford engineering cant seem to fix.

Its time to look for something else.

the max i want to spend is 23000.. if i cant find anything i like i'll probably hold onto the focus.

Criteria

Manual Transmission
Decent power (preferably FI)

01 or newer

Right now i'm looking at WRX wagons. but i havent found any good deals. if anyone has any ideas for other cars, or places to look. feel free to suggest.

I think the WRX is your best choice. Alternatives with good vs bad of these cars-Used '02 RSX type S (I hear they are hella fast vs. Rice Rice baby)/Used SRT-4 (It'll make you go faster then a bag full of TacoBell vs. Too bad the car looks 3 times uglier than the dump you'll take after)/Used 02+ VW GTI (1.8T motor loves mods vs. Welcome to the wonderful world of VW electrical gremlins)

A legacy GT B) I love em and they are below your price by 5k at least. so you can make it look as you want it too, instead of dumping your $ on a pre-made package.

I know you like the wrx, but your chances of finding a legacy GT that havent been beated is higher than a WRX also. ;)

The legacy gt's werent turboed till this year, I was thinking of g35 sedans. those would be awesome, but unfortunatley they seem out of my price range.

I was also thinking altima 3.5. theyre nice too. but gas would be killer. and the cheaper ones look like theyve had the piss beaten outta them

I'd buy a SRT4 if the interiors werent so shitty.

RSX-S theyre nice. but not my thing. Insurance would be killer... too many ricers smash them up.

A3 was another option, but the way i like them its close to 40k.

I'd like a 1.8 t or a VR6... but yikes, i cant afford to have a VW electrical system meltdown.

Are you still going to whine about the new car? Cause I can do without that.

You won't find a used G35 or a used new gen Maxima for under 23K. New gen Altima 3.5SE with 5spd would be nice and in your budget.
What about a 99-02 Mustang GT. You could pick one up way under your budget with plenty left over for that S/C you wanted.

well, there is the Mazda speed if your wanting another some what focus...

I'd suggest a BMW 3 series, but you'd be in the 95 - 2000 area in that price range.

you could try your luck with a newer SVT focus ie. 2004 or a mustang SVT / Cobra / GT
I was the only member on this board with a Yellow Focus Sedan, and a 2002+ Euro Facelift on a sedan.
