On my winter beater my fuel gauge doesn't work...is there a way if I buy a fuel guage and I mounted on the dash...can I connect it directly to the gas tank??

What kind of fuel gauge. Like a pressure? If so and you want it in the compartment I would get a electrical witch are not cheap. Having a mechanical fuel gauge running in the inside of your car isn't safe at all.
Most people just tapp into the fuel rail. Im also assuming this is for a fuel pressure.
