Insurance rates Vastly change depending on what province you live in, most western provinces offer Provincial Insurance, while Ontario Souly relys on Independant Insurance companys.
Ontario 6 years ago anyone under the age of 23, with a clean driving record would have been paying round the $3000 mark, it's almost doubled since then.
Ontario is the Worst Province for insurance rates, and Insurance companies over charging their customers.

Rates differ by where you choose to live too.
If I moved 3 km west, my rate would drop $500/yr and if I moved out of the city completely, to a small town, they'd drop another $500.

- 2005 ZX5
- 1999 Escort (hey i paid a dollar for it...and it's mint...well, except for all the fawking dog hair in it)
$2316/yr
Now, i believe in alberta tickets don't affect your insurance, they do however affect your plates..
example. I got 2 speeding tickets, and never paid them..(OOPS)...so when i went to renew my plates ..instead of paying the regular 55 bucks, it cost me $369...now that was a nice shock i tell ya.
Alberta sucks bum for insurance, but it is the only province that gives us 400 bucks just for living here...bwahhahhahahhaahah
"The weak shall inherit...........NOTHING"
Mods so far:
- 2 Inch Drop, Focus Sport Cold Air Intake, Street Glow 4 light strobe system,MBRP Cat back exhaust, 35% tint on front windows, 5% all around the rear. 1 Million Color Flowlighting Underglow kit, Inside and out. SPEEDHUT custom indiglo Guages, Sirius Satellite Radio, Pioneer DH6800 Deck, 15" Solo-Baric L7 Sub,Enkei 17 inch rims, Belltronic Radar Detector

I'm 26, have 3 cars under my insurance and two of those cars are not on the road as of right now.
1966 Mustang - $ 45 a month ( stored away for the winter )
1990 GMC pick up truck ( in the drive way $15 a month )
2001 Focus Sedan on the road, and daily driver $342.78 a month
$402.78 a month with everything all together.
and that is with one accident ( my fault - hit a snow bank ) and one speeding ticket last year. I'm planning on doing another chaing of companys again soon......

Wow, another reason I'm glad I dont live in Ontario. I'm paying just over $1000/yr for plates on my 2002 ZX3, with my 16% safe-driver program discount.
When I was 17 and got my first car (1986 Pontiac Acadian) it was just over $400/yr.
If I lived in Ontario I could afford to either make my car payment OR my insurance payment, not both :P People in SK complain about SGI's insurance rates and how they run the company, but I'm sure they'd complain a lot more if they were paying 5-6 times more for insurance.
