There is a bolt in kit that Ford Racing sells and it will allow a 4.6L or a 5.0L to fit snuglly inside. But I think it's only the frame and suspension they offer you have to provide a engine and all the other goodies.

I think you'd have to find a front wheel drive donor - eg: the Contour 2.5 or perhaps the Taurus or Fusion 3.0 ...

Well ... in that case research the Mustang V8 swap for Focus ... lots of resources for that and of course the awesome exhaust note.

Okay - to be clear - to make a swap to RWD the first thing that goes is the engine and transmission ... so the terms 2.0 and Zetec no longer apply - - with engine and tranny out it's a Focus shell ... and frankly it could have been an SPI to begin with and it would all be the same.

So the answer is "no" you cannot use a transmission from a RWD vehicle on the Zetec engine which is engineered for FWD.

You can, however, use certain Mustang transmissions when used in conjunction with a RWD application V8.

If you checked out the link I gave you, they specify what engines and transmissions will work with their V8 kit ... ie: the T5 manual and the C4 automatic

I remember seeing a show about a Lotus 7 kit (Caterham) using Zetecs in RWD configuration.

There is some information in this links below that may help you:

link to connecting zetec to rwd transmission

another link to connecting zetec to rwd application

zetec rwd conversion kit

Another zetec rwd thread

Why would you want a 3.0l Vulcan in it? About the same hp and torque as a Zetec, just way heavier.

If you want to go V-6, go with a Duratec of some sort. 3.0, or a 2.5 would be your best bets.

I was going to say, the SVT Contour motor would be good BUT theres a reason they swap them out for 3.0L Duratecs so you might as well try that- one buddy in Burlington swapped a 3.0L duratec in his SVT and dynod 215WHP, plus Nautilus makes turbokits for those motors and average member is putting out over 300WHP with that setup

would a turbo off a ford merkur xr4ti with the intake manifold fit on the zetec i found one for $350 with the intake manifold. the xr4ti was a 2.3l do you guys think the 2.0l zetec, if it would fit other then the blow off valve what else would i need to use it, it is only the manifold and the turbo

The Merkur used the 2.3 Lima engine (can you spell Pinto) - so it's doubtful the manifold would match up to the Zetec - but maybe the turbo itself might be useful although it would have to be more than 20 years old now.
