Fuel Filter
#1
As I've posted elsewhere, I'm having trouble with the car. So far, I've eliminated the PCM and electrical issues. My question is, if the fuel filter is overdue for a change, would it cause the fuel pump to shut off, without throwing a CEL or engine code?

I have only had it for a year and a half.
Is there somewhere I can check it, other than pulling the car apart?

I doubt it, but I know for something like $100 you can be put onto the Ford recall list again, where they send out mail infoming you of any recalls that might be out standing or coming up.
I was the only member on this board with a Yellow Focus Sedan, and a 2002+ Euro Facelift on a sedan.

This is exactly what I did , I went to the dealership , they ran the VIN number , told me the pump has been replaced once but not by the upddated one so they did it again for free.
Any dealer will run the VIN for you.

Just called the local Ford Store. I was told that the pump warranty is for 10 years or 150,000 kms. New pump costs $310.00.

Just can't beleive it , did you clic on my link or did you read it ?

Unlimited millage .

I got mine done at 190K and I'm not even the first owner...

Your dealership isprobably a "stealership".

This campain is for all Focus 00 and 01.

Call Ford customer service , this is a safety issue .
Campaing #03N01 do a google search.

Called Ford. Very helpful young lady informed me that my car had already had it done. So, my question is, if the fuel filter is really dirty, will I get a no start situation?

I checked our dealer ford site and this is off of the site "PROGRAM TERMS
This program provides additional coverage of the fuel delivery module (FDM) to 10 years from the original warranty start date of the vehicle, with no limit on the number of kilometres that the vehicle has been driven. This program provides one-time replacement coverage, and may be automatically transferred to subsequent owners"
