Engine Check ,2 Codes= Help

so tonight on the way back from the gym i stopped at the light....then green came up and all of the sudden my engine check came....but the car drove as usual....so im like ooook wtf?

got home,plugged my Xcal2 and got 2 codes

P1270 engine rpm/ speed limiter operated in manner esceeding calibration limits
P1406 egr downstream unhooked/plugged

anyone have any idea at all what happened?

Weird... here's some longer descriptions I found:

P1270 - Engine RPM/Vehicle Speed Limiter Indicates the vehicle has been operated in a manner which caused the engine or vehicle to exceed a calibration limit. The engine rpm and vehicle speed are continuously monitored by the PCM. The DTC is set when the rpm or speed fall out of calibrated range. For additional information on the engine rpm/vehicle speed limiter, refer to Section 1, Electronic Engine Control (EC) System , Powertrain Control Software. Wheel slippage (water, ice, mud and snow)
Excessive engine rpm in Neutral
Vehicle drive at a high rate of speed
The DTC indicates the vehicle has been operated in a manner which caused the engine or vehicle speed to exceed a calibrated limit.

P1406 - DPF EGR Sensor Downstream Hose Off or Plugged While driving, the EGR monitor commands the EGR valve closed and checks the differential pressure across the EGR orifice. The test fails when the signal from the DPF EGR sensor continues to indicate EGR flow even after the EGR valve is commanded closed. Downstream hose is disconnected
Downstream hose is plugged (ice)
Plugged or damaged EGR tube
Look for signs of water or icing in hose
Verify connection and routing (no excessive dips)
Verify DPF EGR sensor proper mounting and function (view DPFEGR PID while applying and releasing vacuum directly to sensor with a hand pump)

well it was kinda raining outside....maybe one of my wheels was spinning....but even then i wouldn't take to the RPM limit

any top speed runs recently?? the P1270 code doesnt throw the light, it just stores in the computer

the code that throught the light was the egr one. do you have you EGR disabled with the XCAL?? if not, has the car been stumbling? i know you have the race header, i also have the race header and ive given up changing my dpfe cause ive blown through 3 of them.

where's DPFE located? isn't right behind egr bungle?

All I'll say about 1270 is that I did manage to make my CEL come on when I found the governor in the SPI. Then again, I don't think it threw a code then, either. :unsure:

why would a CEL come up when do a top speed run?

on a random note.. did you know that hood scoops start to make a whistling noise at around 120mph?

it doesnt throw the code, it jsut gets stored in the pcm. when it does throw a code (the p1406), the scanner reads that it recorded the p1270.

the reason the CEL came on is because of the EGR system. Nik, the DPFE/EGR doesnt like race headers. Do the DPFE test and see how the car runs after that. have you noticed any stumbling or hesitation?

checked DPFE 2 vacume hoes today...the seem to be ok.....the car drives ok but what the hell....this bugs me

also when i did it with my Xcal2 and deleted the engine check yestarday...if anything's wrong,shouldn't engine check come back on? (thats what i've been told again)

oh and my IAC needs to be replaced.....again when i drive in higher speeds (80km/h +) and put it in nuetural the car dies....... :( ...basicly started to have minor problems with the car
sunroof does wanna open(must be some sensor as well)
