Ford exploring possible sale of APCO
October 12, 2006
Dearborn, Michigan - The Ford Motor Company has announced it may sell its Automobile Protection Corporation (APCO), a wholly-owned subsidiary that offers vehicle service contracts and related aftermarket products to dealers of all makes and models.
"APCO is a strong company that has performed very well, achieving growth in sales and revenue since its acquisition," says Don Leclair, Ford Motor Company Executive Vice President and CFO. "As a result of our ongoing strategic review, we believe it is prudent now for us to consider a sale of APCO."
