Ya, it will work but there is a lot of work. U really just need some compound, polish, rough sand paper up to a 3000 Grit paper after the rough stuff. and then polish the hell out of it.

I have a bottle of 3M Headlight Polish that I used on a set of spare headlights. It worked really good until I got lazy and tried using a drill with a Cotton buffing wheel and burnt the lense. I think it was somewhere around $8 for the bottle.

i tried using sandpaper 400 800 1000 1500 2000
and used scratch remover, polisher and cleaner..
but clear coat on lens wasn't easy to get rid of..
i thought of using drill attachment but was too expensive to buy 1..
