It's This This End Of Satellite Radio? - meford4u - 02-12-2009 News reports are saying XM/Sirius is 1 Billion in debt and seeking bankrupcy protection. New car sales slumping has reduced new customers and old customers are flocking away as Sat. radio is only an extra cost. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/EchoStar-ama...b-14259026.html Stocks were at 11 cents today. I wouldn't be renewing my contrct for their services for an entire year. Go monthly or even qurterly so you don't get burned if they do go under. Agreed in terms of paying up front for a long-term deal ... but reading the underlying articles it appears this is more about Ergen gaining control of the assets without having to buy out the current shareholders - - as opposed to the service itself actually ceasing to exist. Either way no doubt there's a big shakeup coming in sat radio. It's This This End Of Satellite Radio? - awkward - 02-12-2009 I just renewed for 1 Year in November...bad move on my part! Makes me sad... It's This This End Of Satellite Radio? - NefCanuck - 02-12-2009 Crap... and here I thought I was being smart singing up for a "lifetime" subscription to Sirius Canada back in October... I guess I didn't realize that the "lifetime" was of the satellite service NVM the car :censored2: :lame: NefCanuck It's This This End Of Satellite Radio? - NOS2Go4Me - 02-12-2009 LOL - I feel bad for you long-termers. I'm monthly right now and thankfully I resisted the chance to go yearly when I did. It's This This End Of Satellite Radio? - ANTHONYD - 02-12-2009 I always thought this satellite radio should have been a pay as you go deal. I wonder if Stern is wondering what he's gonna do with all that extra time he's gonna have. It's This This End Of Satellite Radio? - Frost__2001 - 02-13-2009 hmm the song "sucks to be you " from prozzak comes to mind hearing this news lol... True enough and the idea seemed sound at the time :( Just hate the thought of losing the $600 I ponied up (minus the months of service since I signed up, a grand total of five months so far  ) NefCanuck It's This This End Of Satellite Radio? - awkward - 02-13-2009 I'm glad I'm not the only one who will suffer!! And...I remember that Prozzak song - best song everrr! Stern was never the same after marriage. Sirius bet big on him and lost. Thank you AM/FM for free. It's This This End Of Satellite Radio? - Canadian ST - 02-18-2009 Don't worry guys (NEF) Sirius XM just got $530 million bailout from Liberty media, they will be around for at leaast a couple of years. Hey if I at least get my $ worth before they shut it down I'll be happy (at the current pricing in Canada, I think my break even point is another 2.5 years away) NefCanuck It's This This End Of Satellite Radio? - dBlast - 02-18-2009 Thank God! I would never ever go back to listening to AM/FM. Ninety percent of the time, every pre-set on my AM/FM dial on my drive to and from work would be playing a commercial. You'd think the jingle to "Sleep Country Canada" would have won an a Grammy, just for the amount of air-play alone.
