IIRC the brake light not only indicates the e-brake is on, but also is used to indicate problems with the braking system in general - you may for example want to check your brake fluid level.

i had the same prob with my mazda and the rear brake was leaking and made the brake fluid low

RE: Ebrake Light - oldeguy - 07-12-2012

I had this problem with my 2000 ZTS, the drum brake wheel cylinders ( I think that's what they are called) leak. Check your brake fluid levels.

RE: Ebrake Light - Chromey - 07-12-2012

I have no leaks But my fluid is at the Min line.

Ill fill it and see what happends.

most likely, you will need to get rear drum serviced.

Was thinking that, They have never been touched, 125XXXKM

rear drum=wheel bearing change as well. BTW, buy the drums from Ford. At my work we've had nothing but headaches using anything aftermarket.
